The village of Araluen is renowned for its fruit and vegetables. In the past, there were numerous peach and nectarine orchards spread throughout the valley, but sadly this has declined over recent years with just two orchards remaining that grow stone fruit.
Harrison & Sons is one farm still in production. It is a 4th generation family-run mixed farm, which also grows vegetables in addition to running cattle and sheep and growing lucerne hay.
Although much smaller in production size than years gone by, they still enjoy growing the produce and selling direct to the public via local farmers markets.
Peaches and nectarines are available November to early January and vegetables January to May.
